Wing Copilot

WING Copilot is a companion app for the Behringer WING digital mixing console. It enables full remote control of the console from a mobile device such as iPads and Android tablets. It gives you flexible using wireless control over mixing, routing, and monitoring. (App Store)

Key Features & Functionality

  • Remote control of mixing & processing — From anywhere in the venue (as long as you’re connected via the router to the WING console), you can adjust channel levels, EQs, sends/returns, routing, and more, without being physically at the console.
  • Modular interface for different tasks — The app organizes control into modules/“modes,” such as Metering (visualizing levels, outputs, RTA), Channel Editing, Routing, Monitor-Mixing (for in-ear or wedge mixes), Front-of-House mixing (full channel/bus control), and Setup / Patch management.
  • Support for monitor mixes, IEM mixes, and group mixes — For personal monitoring or stage mixes, the app allows configuring individual sends or grouped mixes via MCA (Mix Control Association).
  • Flexible setup & routing — You can patch inputs/outputs, name/label sources, configure head-amp settings (gain, phantom power), and route signals to outputs or monitoring paths — useful during soundcheck or live setups.
  • Remote control of recorder and playback — If using the WING console’s SD recorder, Copilot lets you control recording/playback functions remotely from the app.
  • Convenience for FOH / remote mixing / live events — The app is especially useful if the mixing console is placed in a location with poor sight-lines to the stage or far from where you mix (e.g. front-of-house), letting you walk the venue while making adjustments.

Who It’s For

  • Sound engineers mixing live concerts or events, where mobility and remote control are valuable
  • Studio technicians or live-recording engineers who want flexibility and remote operation
  • Bands or performers who manage their own sound (especially smaller gigs or rehearsals) and want to mix from anywhere in the room rather than being tied to the console

Requirements & Compatibility

  • WING Copilot is designed to work with the Behringer WING console (firmware version 3.0.5 or higher, in recent releases).
  • A wireless router network is required: the console and the device running the app must be on the same local network.
  • For iPad — requires iPadOS 14 or later; for Mac (Apple Silicon) — macOS 11.0 or later.

You can watch the video below that shows how this app works.
