The Elizabeth Tucker Audio Ministry, Inc. is a nonprofit ministry created to help churches and their audio volunteers learn how to better understand, operate, and improve their sound systems. The ministry focuses particularly on practical training for church sound teams, including instruction on digital mixing consoles such as the Behringer X32, M32, and WING. Our goal is to provide education, encouragement, and practical assistance so that churches can better serve their congregations through their worship and audio ministries.

The ministry was created from a dream that Liz and I shared.

For years, we talked about traveling throughout the United States and helping churches with their sound systems. We wanted to teach volunteers, solve audio problems, and help people become more confident in their ability to operate their church's sound equipment. After Liz passed away, I decided that our dream should continue. This ministry exists in her honor and is my way of continuing something that was very important to both of us.

Liz was my wife of 39 years who was called to her Heavenly Home during a routine hip surgery. She was also an important part of the dream behind this ministry. Liz and I believed that helping people was something worth doing, and we dreamed of traveling together and serving churches through audio education and hands-on assistance. Although Liz is no longer physically here to travel with me, her name and her legacy are now part of this ministry.

We primarily want to help churches and the people who serve in their audio ministries. This can include:

  • Pastors
  • Worship leaders
  • Church sound volunteers
  • FOH engineers
  • Monitor engineers
  • Livestream operators
  • Broadcast teams
  • Church technical directors
  • Youth ministry audio volunteers
  • People who are just beginning to learn church sound

You do not have to be a professional audio engineer to ask for help.

A significant part of our training focuses on Behringer digital mixing systems, including:

  • Behringer X32
  • Behringer M32
  • Behringer WING
  • WING Rack
  • S32 and other digital stage boxes
  • Mixing Station
  • Digital audio networking
  • Livestream and broadcast systems
  • Recording and DAW integration

However, our goal is not simply to teach people how to operate one particular brand of mixer. We want people to understand the fundamentals of audio so they can apply that knowledge to many different sound systems.

No. Although Behringer X32, M32, and WING systems are an important part of our training, the principles of audio apply across many manufacturers and systems. If your church uses different equipment, you are still welcome to contact us and ask whether we can help.

The ministry is designed around the principle that a church should not necessarily be turned away because it cannot afford traditional consulting or training fees. Rather than establishing a fixed price for ministry assistance, we seek to operate through donations and financial support from people, churches, businesses, and organizations that believe in our mission. There may be circumstances where specific expenses need to be discussed in advance, particularly for travel or other significant costs, but our goal is to keep the ministry accessible to churches regardless of their financial resources.

The ministry depends on donations and other legitimate sources of financial support to continue its work. Donations may help support educational materials, video production, online training, travel, demonstration equipment, technology, website expenses, and other ministry-related costs. Our hope is that people who believe in the mission will help make it possible for us to continue serving churches.

No church should feel that it must make a donation in order to ask a question or seek information. Our goal is to help people whenever we reasonably can. If you are unable to donate, we would much rather have you ask for help than avoid reaching out because you think you cannot afford it.

Yes. Individuals who believe in the mission are welcome to support the ministry. You do not have to be a church or an audio professional to contribute. Anyone who believes that helping churches and equipping volunteers is worthwhile can help us continue this work.

Yes. Churches, businesses, organizations, and other supporters may contact us about supporting the ministry. We are grateful for individuals and organizations that believe in our mission and want to help us reach more churches.

Donations are used to support the ministry's mission and legitimate ministry-related expenses. Depending on the needs of the organization, support may help with:

  • Educational resources
  • Training materials
  • Video production
  • Online meetings
  • Website and technology expenses
  • Demonstration equipment
  • Travel
  • Church visits
  • Administrative expenses
  • Other expenses associated with carrying out the organization's mission

We want our supporters to know that their contributions are helping make the ministry possible.

One of our long-term goals is to travel throughout the United States and visit churches. During a church visit, we hope to provide practical, hands-on training using the church's actual equipment and sound system. Because travel requires funding and scheduling, we cannot promise that we will be able to visit every church that contacts us. However, we encourage you to reach out and tell us about your church and what you need.

Every church is different, so the training would be based on the church's equipment, volunteers, and needs. The goal is not simply to make changes to your system. The goal is to teach your people why those changes are being made so they can continue using the system effectively after we leave. Possible subjects could include:

  • Understanding the mixing console
  • Signal flow
  • Gain structure
  • EQ
  • Compression
  • Effects
  • Monitor mixing
  • Stage boxes
  • Digital routing
  • Livestream audio
  • Troubleshooting
  • Creating a consistent workflow
  • Training volunteers

Yes. Online education and support are an important part of the ministry. We plan to continue developing educational videos, online meetings, tutorials, demonstrations, and other resources that churches can access regardless of where they are located. Our only request is that you have Zoom installed on your computer as this is the online training platform we use.

"Mixing On Mondays" is an online educational meeting focused on helping people learn about church audio and digital mixing systems. It provides an opportunity to ask questions, discuss audio problems, learn new techniques, and interact with other people who are involved in church sound. Information about upcoming meetings will be posted on this website and you can find more information about it by clicking here.

Yes. Providing useful educational information is an important part of our mission. We plan to continue developing tutorials, articles, videos, diagrams, explanations, and other resources that can help church volunteers learn audio. Our philosophy is simple: If knowledge can help someone serve their church better, we want to share it!

That's okay. You don't need to be an experienced audio engineer to learn. In fact, helping beginners is one of the reasons this ministry exists. We want to explain audio in a way that makes sense rather than assuming that everyone already understands technical terminology. There is no shame in asking questions. Everyone who understands audio had to learn somewhere.

Absolutely. If you are struggling with a problem, contact us and explain what you are experiencing. If we can answer your question through email, online communication, educational material, or another reasonable method, we will do our best to help you figure it out.

The tax treatment of donations depends on the organization's legal and federal tax status and the circumstances of the contribution. Once the organization has received the appropriate federal tax-exempt determination, this website will provide the applicable information regarding charitable contributions.

There are many ways to help. You can:

  • Tell another church about the ministry.
  • Share our website.
  • Share our educational resources.
  • Invite church volunteers to our online meetings.
  • Pray for the ministry.
  • Invite us to speak with your church.
  • Help connect us with churches that may need assistance.
  • Encourage someone who is learning church audio.

Sometimes the most valuable support is simply helping another person find the resources they need.

Because behind all of the equipment, cables, microphones, mixing consoles, and technology are people. People who are volunteering their time & trying to serve their churches. People who want to do a good job but don't always know how and sometimes, all they need is someone willing to sit down with them and say: "Let me show you how this works." That is what Liz and I dreamed about doing and with your help, I hope to continue doing it.
