Elizabeth “Liz” Tucker
Liz was my wife, my best friend and the person who shared this dream with me. This year would have been our 40th anniversary of being together. For years we talked about traveling across the country and helping churches with their sound systems. We didn’t dream about becoming a large company, we dreamed about helping people. We wanted to sit down with church volunteers, teach them how their equipment worked, help them solve problems and give them the confidence to operate their systems. Liz believed that helping people was important and that knowledge should be shared. She also believed that if we had the ability to help someone, we should.
After Liz passed away, I had to make a decision about what I wanted to do with the dream we shared. I could allow the dream to end with her, or I could continue it. I chose to continue it. Every church I help and every person I teach reminds me of the reason Liz and I wanted to do this in the first place. This isn’t about replacing Liz, it’s about taking something that was important to both of us and continuing to do something good with it.
Liz’s legacy isn’t a corporation, it isn’t a website or a logo. Her legacy is the people she touched and the good that continues because of the love we shared. I hope that every time this ministry helps a church, teaches a volunteer or makes someone’s job a little easier, it becomes another small part of that legacy. I love you Liz & I miss you every day. I will do my best to keep working on the dream we shared.
